I know it isn’t an accurate representation of the San Francisco painted ladies because they are all in the city and in a group. But, that is what I was thinking about when I made this one. And it is sitting on a hill of California poppies.

California scene #2.

This could be in lots of places but I definitely think of California as having amazing wilderness. Also, lots of pine trees.

As I have mentioned before, I will be teaching out in Sonoma, California next October. Check out the Well Crafted Sonoma retreat if you haven’t already. It is going to be awesome! There are just a few spaces left. I have been thinking about California landscapes to put into tea cups. My first idea was a winery since Sonoma is known for being wine country.

I attempted to make the roof look like the red tiles that seem so common in California.

I’ve got more to show. It is fun to work with a theme!

She has a blue turtleneck cashmere sweater and an orange skirt with ribbon trim.

Also, a green scarf and a backpack.

How cute is that flower ribbon! A wonderful trim for her Liberty lawn skirt.

This is the last kitty for now. See you soon with something new!
I have a soft spot for black cats. Here is my sweet boy Jasper.

And here is an adorable girl that I finished this week.

I made her a little flower for her sweater.

I used more of my 3-hole antique buttons on her cardigan. I am using them up but I always remind myself that it is silly to save them. They are meant to get a new life. They were originally a gift from someone who follows my work and probably came from those long womens kid gloves.

Her dress is Liberty lawn fabric. It is such a perfect weight and pattern scale for little kitties.

He has a light green corduroy jacket and a linen scarf.

He has an owl vest, a watch on his wrist, and a wallet in his pocket. He is a cool cat.

An orange kitty with a black cashmere sweater and a plaid vest. He is an outdoor kind of fellow.

And a profile :-)

He has a wool felt messenger bag with a brass button.

I was very excited to be asked to participate in this online gallery show at the Poetic Tiger Gallery. I made a green haired Merman for the show.

He has a curly beard and buns in his hair. Also, a big old cow and a sheep on his chest.

And a few jewels at his waist.

and another on the wall photo-

Curious World of Peculiar Dolls opens (online) tomorrow or you can go to the website and sign up for an earlier viewing.
This’ll be the last of the batch of fish I made for the pop-up- moving on to finishing the cats I started in December.

This one looks almost black but is a very dark green. I got the green and white fabric at an estate sale of a fashion sewist. The houndstooth is at least partially angora- it has that soft fuzziness to it.

The top fish is black, gray, and black and navy stripes. The bottom fish is black and white houndstooth, gray, and white.

The fish are “swimming” on my new (to me) studio love seat. It is so nice to have a comfy place to sit!
